Volunteers are truly the backbone of GMSR - from the Board to committee members, and lots of helpers at events and at the retreat.
If you’re considering how you might fit in, we've outlined below the different areas where volunteers and board members focus our efforts:
Spiritual Programming - Develop and facilitate spiritual programming, workshops, and gatherings beyond our annual retreat to extend GMSR's mission year-round.
Marketing & Communications - Help us share GMSR's message through social media, website content, email campaigns, and community outreach. Whether you're skilled in writing, graphic design, or simply passionate about spreading the word about our mission.
Registration - Support our tech and data management needs by helping with registration platforms, database maintenance, and coordinating the sign-up process for events and retreats.
Scholarships - Assist with reviewing applications, evaluating financial need, and coordinating with our fundraising efforts to ensure GMSR remains accessible to all who seek to participate.
Hospitality - Create welcoming, inclusive environments at our retreat and events, coordinating food and refreshments, and ensuring everyone feels at home.
Event Design - Contribute to the creative planning and logistics of our retreat and other events, from workshop coordination to space planning and program flow.
Entertainment Programming - Help plan and facilitate the fun, engaging activities that make our gatherings memorable, from talent shows to game nights to comedy specials.
Fundraising - Support our financial sustainability through donor outreach, annual fundraising drive, grant writing, corporate sponsorship outreach.
Special Events - Help plan and execute our Winter Event and other special gatherings throughout the year, from concept to celebration.
Volunteer Coordination - Help us recruit, organize, and appreciate the amazing volunteers who make everything possible.
Community Outreach - Build relationships with other organizations, represent GMSR at community events, and help us grow our network throughout San Diego and Southern California.
